(KNSI) – An Avon-based construction and energy company is hosting a charity hockey game to raise money for injured veterans. The Blattner Society Hockey Team will compete against the Minnesota Warriors Veterans Hockey Team to raise funds for the MN Warriors program.
The game will help develop the MN Warriors, support the new MN Warrior women’s hockey team, ice rentals, travel and lodging, and league fees for the MN Warriors hockey teams.
The match will take place on Saturday at Bernick’s Ice Arena at the Scheels Athletic Complex in Sartell. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
The evening begins at 5:00 p.m. with the team being welcomed by an escort of police and Sartell firefighters to the arena. The game begins at 6 p.m. with a performance of the national anthem by Minnesota Wild frontman John DeCausemaker and an honorary puck drop by current Mrs. Woman United States and veteran attorney Sara Peterson. St. Cloud State University Men’s Hockey Public Announcer Chuck Clausen will announce the game.
There will also be prizes and raffle items up for grabs, including a SCSU gear set, MN Wild hockey tickets, Bauer hockey bags and SCHEEL gift cards.
“Blattner is honored to host this event for Minnesota Warriors veterans, and to honor and thank them for their service to our country,” said Christine Huston, director of marketing communications at Blattner.
The Minnesota Warriors ice hockey program was organized for charitable and educational purposes, for injured, injured or disabled United States military personnel, in conjunction with the USA Disabled Hockey program, to help our veterans reintegrate into life civil.
